Yusuf Ziya Odabaş was born in 1963 in Kdz. Ereğli. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kdz. Ereğli. He finished his high school education at the Industrial Vocational High School Department of Kdz. Ereğli.

He began his professional career in 1985 as a worker in a private enterprise in Kdz. Ereğli. In 1989, he started working at Erdemir as a Cold Rolling Mill Directorate. He continued his career at Erdemir for 14 years.

In 2003, he was elected as the union representative for Erdemir workplace at the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union. After serving as a union representative for 4 years, he was elected as the Branch President at the 8th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union Kdz. Ereğli Branch in 2007. He retained the position of Branch President in the 9th and 10th General Assemblies in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

In 2015, he was elected as the Vice-President at the 15th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union. He has held the same position in the 16th and 17th General Assemblies in 2019 and 2023, respectively.

In addition to his roles within the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union, in 2015, he was elected as a Central Committee Member at the International Eurasian Metalworkers' Federation. On March 5, 2020, he was elected as the General Secretary at the 9th General Assembly of IEMF. He completed his term as the General Secretary at IEMF, as he did not run for re-election at the 10th General Assembly held on March 7, 2023.

Yusuf Ziya Odabaş is married and he has two children.

Mürsel Öcal was born in 1965 in Kırıkkale, Öcal completed his primary and secondary education before graduating from the MKEK Apprentice School.

He began his career in 1982 at the MKEK Weapons Factory. In 2008, Öcal played a significant role in the consolidation of MKEK workplaces under the umbrella of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union. In 2009, he was elected as the Branch President at the 1st General Assembly of the re-established Kırıkkale Branch of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union. Öcal continued to serve as the Branch President at the 2nd General Assembly in 2012 and the 3rd General Assembly in 2015.

In 2016, Mürsel Öcal assumed the position of president of the founding board of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union Izmir Branch, which was established in 2016. He was elected as the Branch President at the 1st General Assembly of the Izmir Branch in 2016 and re-elected for a second term at the 2nd General Assembly in 2020, serving in this position for two terms.

Furthermore, Öcal was elected as a Member of the Central Discipline Committee at the 15th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union on August 1-2, 2015. He also served as a Member of the Central Inspection Committee at the 16th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union on June 29-30, 2019, each for one term.

In the 17th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union held on April 1-2, 2023, Öcal was elected as the Vice-President. He continues to hold this position.

Mürsel Öcal is married and he has three children.

Mesut Erdem was born in 1976 in Bursa. He completed his education in Bursa.

Starting his career in 2000 at the Gramer Factory located in the Bursa Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone, Mesut Erdem became involved in the organizing activities of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union at Gramer workplace in 2009. Serving as the union representative at Gramer workplace from 2009 to 2014, Erdem was elected as the Branch President at the 2nd General Assembly of the Bursa Osmangazi Branch in 2014. He was re-elected to the position of Branch President at the 3rd General Assembly in 2018 and the 4th General Assembly in 2021.

In the 17th General Assembly of the Turkish Metalworkers’ Union held on April 1-2, 2023, Erdem was elected as the Vice - President. He currently holds the same position.

Mesut Erdem is married and has one child.
