DAIMLER TRUCK WORK COUNCIL TRAINING SEMINAR

The second seminar on the implementation of the German Duty of Care Law at Daimler and how Turkish trade unionists can use this law in the most effective way in their organising activities was held in Istanbul on 10 May in cooperation with Turk Metal and Daimler Truck Works Council. The seminar also covered the details of the Global Framework Agreement (GFA) agreed by the German Daimler-Benz workplace with IndustriALL Global Union.

During the seminar, Ralf Götz from IG Metal gave a short presentation on the role of the European Works Council. This was followed by a presentation by Jörg Lorz, Vice President of the Daimler World Works Council, who gave an overview of the Global Framework Agreement and its structural implementation in the German supply chain. After the seminar, the participants visited the Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere bus factory, where we are organised, and had the opportunity to exchange views with our members and receive general information about the factory.
