LABORER VICTORY AT AKWEL!
Our Bursa Osmangazi Branch was established in the last months of 2019 with Akwel Bursa Turkey Otomotiv A.Ş. Completing the organizational work in the workplace, he received the authorization certificate from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services on 24 December 2019. Akwel Bursa employer finally fired another friend who joined our union on Wednesday, 22 January 2020. Akwel workers, who continued their determined attitude with their union against these pressures of the employer, achieved victory today (24.01.2020) as a result of their struggle to obtain the right of union membership, which is their main constitutional right. 3 days toiling in Akwel resistance of the action, the sound had brought in all of Turkey.
Following these developments, with the initiative of Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat, the parties came together and evaluated the process at Akwel. An agreement was reached between the parties during the meeting held today. First of all, Akwel employer accepted the return of our fired friends. The employer side has also announced that our union will withdraw its objection to the delegation from the ministry. The agreement also provides for the destruction of the minutes kept for Akwel workers, regarding the actions that have been going on at the factory for three days.
