MYRIADS OF TÜRK METAL MEMBERS WENT TO THE SQUARES
Turkish Metalworkers’ Union between Turkish Employers Association of Metal Industries (MESS) in the negotiations that began in 7 October, the failure to achieve agreement between the parties on 4 December, keeping the minutes of the dispute, had been passed to the mediation stage. Our union Türk Metal had started warning actions on 11 December in all workplaces affiliated with MESS in order to announce the rightful demands of our members both to the employer side and the public once again. Together with our members, the first warning actions against MESS were carried out on 11 December with the whistles and applause of shifts in and out of shifts, and we continued to protest MESS with the actions on 13 and 17 December.
Myriads of Turkish Metalworkers’ Union members went to the squares on Thursday, 19 December 2019 and increased the severity of the warning actions we initiated against MESS. In mass press statements held in the squares, the voice of the labourer is once again announced to those who ignore the rightful demands of our members; it was once again proved what the metal workers could do together. With the mass press releases realized in Aksaray, Ankara, Bolu, Bursa, Denizli, Eskisehir, Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, Manisa and Sakarya provincial centers and Biga, Bozuyuk, Cerkezkoy, Gebze, Golcuk and Iskenderun district centers, our warning actions against MESS were taken to a conclusion. We have shown once again our determination to continue until. While the participation of our members in the press releases held in the regions was intense, the struggle was once again with the slogans.
