OUR STRUGGLE WILL CONTINUE IN AKWEL!
Operating in Bursa Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone, Akwel Bursa Turkey Otomotiv A.Ş. Bursa Osmangazi Branch in the workplace, organized by the organization for a while, the employer side has disturbed. Akwel Otomotiv's employer initiated pressure and intimidation against employees gathered under the roof of our union in order to prevent organization. Using our most basic constitutional right, two of our friends who were members of our union who wanted to get their labor and their sweat paid off were dismissed. The pressure on other friends who are members of our union intensified.
Bursa Osmangazi Branch made a press release in front of the factory today (13.12.2019) to say stop the pressure and to support our dismissed friends. Many members of our workplaces in Bursa participated in the action and supported the Akwell workers. While the members participating in the action supported the Akwell laborers with musical instruments, they shouted the slogans "Akwel Worker is not alone”, “We will take our union right” and "we will win by resisting".
Nearly 1700 metal workers are employed in two factories of Akwel Otomotiv in the Turkish-French partnership in Bursa and Gebze. Akwel Gebze Turkey Otomotiv A.Ş., which operates in Kocaeli Gebze Plastikçiler Organized Industrial Zone. In the workplace, our Gebze Dilovası Branch had recently started organizing.
