PROCESS STARTED IN MESS-TÜRK METAL AGREEMENT!

Our union Turkish Metalworkers’ Union with Turkish Employers Association of Metal Industries (MESS) between about 112 thousand of interest to our members, 2019 Group Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations which began on Monday, 7 October 2019 with the first session held in Istanbul.

At the beginning of the first session held at the MESS Central Office, Vice President Uysal Altundağ on behalf of our union, MESS Board Member Erkan Kafadar took the floor and expressed their wishes that the negotiations would be beneficial to the Turkish industry and Turkish workers.

After the opening speeches, negotiations started. In the interviews, 14 articles were accepted exactly as suggested by our union and recorded under minutes. During the negotiations, the MESS side made a proposal that the contract would be 3 years. Our union rejected this offer. The offer was postponed for further discussion.

For the second session of the 2019 MESS Group Collective Bargaining Agreement, the parties will meet again on October 21, 2019 at 10:00 in Istanbul.

Our union was represented in the first session held in Istanbul with our Vice Presidents Uysal Altundağ, Halil Faki Erdal and our General Secretary Taliphan Kıymaz with a delegation consisting of the heads of the branches and the officials of the Collective Bargaining Office. MESS Board Members Erkan Kafadar, Haydar Yenigün and Secretary General Özgür Barut and the accompanying delegation joined.
